Marjorie’s students work on music for auditions for choirs and plays, church solos, pop music, contemporary worship lead singing, Disney songs, classical music, or whatever they are interested in learning.
Any students wishing to study voice or musical theater in college should start preparations with Marjorie no later than the fall of the Junior year of high school. Piano lessons at any level are strongly recommended for any student wishing to study music in college.
Marjorie’s vocal training and teaching philosophy draws upon healthy technique-building that reduces tension and stress in the voice, which ultimately achieves a healthy, resonant tone. This is not a quick process. Time and practice of these techniques instill good habits and replace tendencies that inhibit good singing.
The studio space was designed to encourage musicians to feel confident, supported, and comfortable while evoking a feeling that music is special.
The acoustics in the room were created with a young singer in mind. The Kawai grand piano was chosen specifically for this space.
